Art for All at Masterworks
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 16: Masterworks is holding its Arts for All community workshops this month.
Arts for All is a biannual community event held during spring and Christmas holidays offering free art workshops to all ages.
Robyn DeSilva, Education Coordinator said: “The museum is full of unique treasures worth exploring further, and it is exciting to share knowledge of Bermuda’s history and culture through art with the community. Getting kids to investigate and discuss works of art can be a unique educational experience, they always have such original interpretations and are often fascinated that they can relate to the subjects and locations depicted.”
Dates and times are as follows:
- December 29:
Jewelry Making: come and make a bracelet, necklace or earrings. Create with beads, jewels and metal wire. (10am to 12pm).
From 12pm to 3pm Book Making: make your own book using colourful paper. Create the bindings and cover then fill it up.
From 12pm to 3pm Adult workshop: Paper making with Ami Zanders. - December 30:
Felting: Create a piece of felt from scratch. Using dyed roving wool and soap and lots of elbow grease (10am to 12pm).
From 12pm to 3pm Soap Carving: Using popsicle sticks and soap children will learn the basics of negative sculpture.
From 12pm to 3pm Adult workshop: Sketch painting with Vernon Clarke - December 31st:
From 10am to 12pm Family Day: Art activities for the whole family to enjoy together.
Spaces are limited and can be reserved by calling 236-2950. Only one workshop per person.
The museum will also be open on Tuesday, December 27th from 10am to 4pm. n
