WEDNESDAY, MAR. 14: Guests to the Living Art Exhibit in Hamilton on Saturday night were treated to a rather modest exhibition of a very different body of work — body painting.

Local artists Rhona Emmerson and her son Mark and daughter Hannah, along with artists Vanessa Richmond and Summer Wood treated guests at the fundraiser to spectacular work featuring a handful of models who were anything but modest.

The four very different and very much alive canvases featured various subjects from dragons to an undersea world (see photo) to abstract.

But the Living Art Exhibit was about more than just body painting, as organisers Tricia Walters and Art Centre administrator Heidi Cowan explained. “We wanted to come up with a fundraising idea that was different,” Mrs Walters said. “We wanted to use the human body as a living canvas and body painting is the best way to do this. It has also never been done in Bermuda before.”

The evening also featured tattoo models while tattoo artist Lee Eastmond was on hand to show off examples of his work, both in photographs and on his own body.

Another highlight of the evening was a performance by Bermuda’s talented Capoeira Camara.
