WEDNESDAY, NOV. 7: Two books featuring stories by Bermudian students will be launched next week.
CKC BOOKS and CKC Cares Charity will release Art is My Life – An anthology of creative works by Bermuda’s Teens and SUPERSTARS – Life through Little Eyes, an anthology of creative works by primary and middle school students.
Both books were supported by the Minister of Education, Dame Jennifer Smith and the Cultural Legacy Fund.
Cha’Von Clarke of CKC said: “On behalf of the young contributors and the CKC BOOKS/CKC Cares Charity team, we thank the Cultural Legacy Fund for assisting with this project that has proven to empower Bermuda’s youth artists.
“The purpose of the project was to provide an opportunity for the island’s youth to freely share their interests, thoughts and concerns through poetry, visual arts and short stories.
“It was open to public and private school students of all ages and we received over seventy submissions.
“Originally, the plan was to publish one book of poetry, short stories and visual arts but after receiving over seventy entries with extremely different themes, we knew that we had to work on two separate publications.”
