CableVision offers Free Preview and other festive perks
TUESDAY, DEC. 18: There has never been more variety and selection on TV, and with the holidays approaching, now is the time to enjoy it all.
CableVision is once again offering our customers a holiday gift in the form of a Free Preview which started on December 17, and will run until 8am on January 3, 2013.
That means more than two weeks of entertainment, sports, movies, events and more.
There are 37 channels for you to explore in our Premium Tiers: HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, TMC and Starz, and the Maxpack Channels, Sportsmax and Fox Soccer Plus.
Cricket fans will probably stop reading this article at that last sentence, knowing what they have to look forward to.
For the rest of you sports fans, there are quite a few other options, including boxing and English Premier League Soccer, to name just a few.
When it comes to movies, the Premium channels have non-stop entertainment in every genre, plus a number of original, award-winning series. Be sure to set your parental controls if you have little ones around the house.
Although we can’t include Pay-Per-View, HDTV and paid Video-on-Demand content in this Free Preview, there are some new options you should know about.
Video-on-Demand, or “Anytime Entertainment” is now available island-wide, and there is a lot of free content there for you to discover.
Paid selections start at just $2.99. You can order with your remote, and watch when you want to. No waiting for a start time, and you can pause and rewind at any time. If you have not yet registered your PIN for Video-on-Demand and Pay-Per-View purchases, you can do so securely online at www.cablevision.bm.
To make life easier for parents, and more fun for kids, we’ve just introduced a special Kids Movie Zone in the Video-on-Demand (VOD) categories on Channel 500.
Now you can keep your children entertained for hours with popular, kid-safe movies that are all G and PG-rated, suitable for the children to view alone or with adults.
Many of the titles feature holiday themes, so get in the spirit, and gather round the TV with a bowl of popcorn.
Parents can also find lots more G & PG-rated movies in the other VOD movie categories on Channel 500, as well as free cartoons for children in the “Free for Kids” category.
If you want to try Video-on-Demand and make an impact in the life of a child who may not otherwise receive toys for Christmas, there is still time to join us in supporting the Salvation Army Christmas Toy Drive. Bring a new, unwrapped toy suitable for age 12 and under to our Washington Mall location and we’ll give you a voucher worth $4 off a Video-on-Demand purchase.
Don’t forget that you can bring a festive Christmas mood to your home with Channel 733 (Sounds of the Season), where you can enjoy CD-quality digital music geared to the holidays, from classics to contemporary.
Finally, there’s something new in the Pay-Per-View category as well: We have just introduced Pay-Per-View en Español, to meet the growing diversity of our audiences.
This channel carries Spanish-language live and replay versions of major Pay-Per-View events like UFC and WWE, boxing; soccer tournaments and exhibitions; and other programming including comedy, concerts and movies.
IN DEMAND has also changed the programming arrangement of its “All Day Ticket” movie channels to an a la carte format, which provides more variety for viewers.
All in all, it is an exciting month for television, and we hope families will enjoy the Free Preview, the new services, and plenty of time together over the holidays.
