Entries being accepted for Miss Teen Bermuda

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 6: The Miss Teen Bermuda pageant celebrates its tenth anniversary this year and a new round of contestants start training on Tuesday.

Terry Smith, pageant director is looking for girls between the ages of 13 to 17 to be Miss Teen Bermuda 2012.

Orientation for the pageant will be on Tuesday, June 12 from 5:30 to 7pm at the Bermuda Industrial Union.

Those interested in competing will register that night.

The girls have to be born on Bermuda or have lived here for at least six months.

Mr Smith is looking for girls who are doing “above average” in school and “is community oriented, looking to improve herself and her social skills by representing Bermuda at an international level in September.”

Because this is the tenth anniversary, Mr Smith expects the pageant to be the best yet.

It will be held on August 19 at the Fairmont Southampton.

“The young ladies will be expected to have a platform on relevant issues in the community such as gang violence or abstinence.”
