Exhibition of sea glass jewellery to open this month
WEDNESDAY, JULY 4: An exhibition of jewellery made from sea glass is to open this month at the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art.
Kevin Lombard and Judith Paixao are the gallery’s artists in residence from April to July and their show will include a documentary film Entry by the Sea about Bermuda’s sea glass, behind-the-scenes photos from the production as well as some paintings.
The couple have transformed the artist in residency into a workshop/studio and have had more than 100 people come by to make their own jewellery while Lombard has been teaching filmmaking with the Bermuda International Film Festival as well as The Chewstick Foundation and Warwick Academy.
• The exhibition opens on Friday, July 6 at 5:30pm and the film shows at 6:30pm. Seating will be limited. On Saturday, July 7, Ms Paixao will be holding a Salon de Bijouterie from 10am to 4pm at the museum. To make a booking call Masterworks on: 236-2950.
