Free giveaways during community day at St George's SDA
THURSDAY, JULY 12: St George’s Seventh-day Adventist church will host a community day on Sunday.
The church will be offering free bread giveaways, tasting of vegetarian food and more.
Organiser Sandra Brangman said the event came about as a way to reach out to the community.
The target audience is people who live in St George’s.
“What we hope to accomplish is to meet so new friends and also find out what our community needs are so that we as a church can better serve our community in St. George.
“The event will include information of what the St George SDA Church can offer the community through its various department of the church.
“We will also be give information on money management, which we all can use during these economic time.”
She continued: “We will be giving away homemade bread, and other free giveaways and we will also have a Neighborhood Watch Presentation at 3pm to give the community information if they would like to have a neighborhood watch in there area of the community.”
In addition, there will be food tastings and health screenings.
“During these economic times we all need help and the only why that we can help each other is to befriend one another and find out what each other needs are, so that help can be provided.
“So we would like for all of our community to come out and enjoy the day, but also share where they might need help.”
The event will take place on Sunday from 1 to 5pm at the church.
