TUESDAY, FEB. 28: This weekend Bermuda will be treated to a hypnotist and comedian all in one show.

Damien the Hypnotist will perform on Saturday night at the Ruth Seaton James Theatre.

Organiser Janson Cross spoke to us about why you should come to the event.

“I went to a hypnotist show in New York about two years ago and the show was so funny and so outrageous that I knew that was something I wanted to bring to Bermuda.

“Plus, it gives BermudaNightOut.com a chance to partner with SYA Charity and do something different.

“This is a hypnotist show that is catering to an adult audience.

“To see some of his previous work, check out www.bermudanightout.com where I have one of YouTube videos on the site.”

Cross said this is Damien’s first time in Bermuda and he typically likes to bring 20 people on stage to hypnotize them.

“He is very excited for the opportunity to perform in front of a Bermudian audience.

“He has advised that people do not want to miss this show.”

Asked how Damien will fuse comedy and hypnosis, Cross said: “As a host, he is a very entertaining and funny guy.

“But the real comedy comes from the actual people that he bring on stage and hypnotizes.

“Once they are hypnotized, the funny things he will have them performing is must see TV.

“Sometimes, you may even ask yourself, is this real until you ask someone that has been hypnotized and they tell you its real.

“This will be a unique event because not everyday you get to see a world class hypnotist that has done major events around the world.”

As for why people should come to the event, the organiser said: “The main reason people should come out and support the event is that they will be entertained.

“They will laugh until the stomach hurts and they will talk about it for years to come.

“People until this day still have vivid memories about the hypnotist show that was held at Clay House back in the day.”

Asked what to expect from Damien himself, Cross said: “Tons of energy, charisma and flair.

“Be prepared for Damian to put on a show like nothing you have ever seen before.

“If you don't have a good time at this show, then something is really wrong.”

Cross said the show will last for two hours.

Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at www.bdatix.bm, All Wrapped Up in the Washington Mall, Fabulous Fashions in the Heron Bay Plaza and Kit n Caboodle.
