Inflation worry as November shows 3.1 per cent increase
FRIDAY, JAN. 13: Inflation was 3.1 per cent for November.
Not counting December, the rate of inflation for 2011 was 2.68 per cent.
The Fuel & Power sector was up 13.4 per cent on year on year analysis by the Department of Statistics.
For November, rent controlled properties were 0.2 per cent while there was a 0.1 decrease in non-rent controlled properties leaving the sector unchanged.
The Food sector was up 0.2 per cent thanks in part to green peppers (up 5.6 per cent), cantaloupe (+5.5 per cent) and frozen chicken parts (+4.7 per cent).
The Transport & Vehicles sector declined 4.9 per cent as overseas travellers enjoyed reduced airfares (—16 per cent) and hotel accommodations (—13.3 per cent).
Residents paid 0.5 per cent less for gasoline in December as they did in October.
Both the Clothing & Footwear sector and the Health & Personal Care sector were unchanged for November.
The Fuel & Power, Tobacco & Liquor and Household Goods, Services & Communications were all up 0.1 per cent.
Pet care costs were up 1.3 per cent in November.
