THURSDAY, NOV. 8: Quirky Canuck Mark Forward and animated Yankee Orny Adams are among the international comedians on the line-up for the seventh annual Just For Laughs event.

They will be joined by Alonzo Bodden and Danny Bhoy who have both graced the stage at the event in years gone by.

Orny Adams shot to fame after co-starring in Jerry Seinfeld’s documentary Comedian and has numerous television credits to his name. He has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Late Show with David Letterman. In 2000, Adams made an impact at the Just For Laughs Montreal Festival which resulted in a development deal with Warner Brothers Studio.

He has returned to the festival in 2010 and was described as a “stand out act” by the Hollywood Reporter after appearing on TV show hosted by Steve Martin. He has twice written for the Annual Emmys Broadcast, and, in addition to his critically acclaimed debut comedy DVD/CD Path Of Most Resistance, just recently released a poignant one-hour Comedy Central special, Orny Adams Takes The Third.

Mark Forward was a finalist for the Phil Hartman Award, Canadian Comedy Award-winner for Best Stand-up Newcomer in 2005, and, in 2006, won the Homegrown Comic Competition at Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival.

Mark recently had a breakthrough stand-up performance on CBS’s The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, which garnered him a 2012 Canadian Comedy Award for Best Taped Live Performance. Last year, Mark joined the cast of CBC’s wildly popular sitcom Mr. D in the role of stern librarian Mr Leung.

Alonzo Bodden is not touring or performing, but you can catch him hosting his new weekly podcast ‘Who’s Paying Attention?’.

Last year, he hosted the multi-comic shows at the Fairmont Southampton.

He will share the stage with Danny Bhoy, a regular top-selling box office comedian in his home town of Edinburgh.

In 2007 and 2011, he returned to Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival for the rare accolade of performing a 10-night solo run which completely sold out — twice.
