MONDAY, JAN. 10: Law firm Conyers Dill & Pearman has made 13 people redundant, the Bermuda Sun understands.

The figure is unconfirmed but the company is due to release a media statement later today.

CD &P is one of Bermuda’s longest-established law firms and its job cuts come in the wake of a string of other layoffs across the island in recent months.

Allied World declined to give an exact number but the Bermuda Sun reported on Friday that the insurer has shed as many as 15 people.

Bermuda Press let 15 people go in restructuring of its commercial print division while ACE reduced its staff by 17.

Saltus Grammar School made eight employees redundant for the 2011-12 school year.

And in mid-December, Furniture Flair announced several staff would be made redundant after a change in ownership.

More details to follow.
