FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21: This Gombey cape was hand-tailored by Kelzine Thompson for Miss Bermuda Jana Outerbridge to model on an international stage.

Ms Thompson spent just three weeks making the garment, which would normally have taken her between six and nine months.

The cape is the traditional cape that Ms Thompson makes for the real Gombey dancers. She also made a small skirt in the Gombey style with a moongate design on it.

Ms Thompson said she was honoured to have been asked to make the cape and was grateful to her employer Capital G for allowing her the time to do it at short notice.

Miss Bermuda is currently in London preparing to compete in the 2011 Miss World competition.
