Mother and daughter launch 'Thrifty Saturdays'
FRIDAY, JAN. 27: A new shopping experience for those who enjoy thrift stores will launch tomorrow.
Thrifty Saturdays is run by a mother and daughter duo that have come together to create the ultimate shopping experience for thrift lovers.
Founder Maya Furbert said: “During these economical times, we wanted to offer another channel to shop thrift.
“Thrift is a rising trend locally, due to low budgets and green lifestyles.
“We want to make this a fun shopping experience.
Ms Furbert said there will be women’s, children’s and men’s clothing to home goods and furniture.
Also included are magazines, artwork and unique finds from shoppers that love to be different.
She described the initiative as a thrift store on the go.
Part proceeds made during these sales will be donated to a children’s charity every month.
The organization of the month is Girls Talk.
“Girls Talk is an annual conference dedicated to educating young girls on a variety of issues and topics such as: sex, internet and dining etiquette along with fashion tips to help girls gain more confidence and knowledge on issues that they may be facing during their teenage years.”
This event will be taken place on the last Saturday of every month from 10am to 2pm at the Rubber Tree off of Khyber Pass in Warwick.
