WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 19: The Devil’s Hole Aquarium has attracted “minimal interest” since it was put on the market for $1.75 million.
But the turtles and the fish living in the cave underneath the building are being fed and looked after by its current owner. Kathy Lines from Moura and Associates told the Bermuda Sun: “There are turtles and fish in the cave and they are still being looked after and fed by the current owners.
“There are no animals in the actual building.
“Right now we have not had any viable offers on the property.
“Interest in it has been minimal.”
The Devil's Hole Aquarium and Angels Wings Café was put up for sale in June.
The Smiths property has been a tourist attraction for more than 150 years and is believed to have been opened in 1834 around a collapsed cave.
The restaurant was recently renovated with new kitchen equipment.
It seats 50 people inside and offers additional seating for 25 on the verandah overlooking Harrington Sound.
The plot is 2,000 square feet and comes with an office, retail space and the cruise boat Argo.
The company van has also been included in the sale along with a large strip of waterfront.
Moura and Associates are acting as the agent for the sale.
The original advertisement that appeared on the company’s website stated: “Unique business opportunity at the Devil’s Hole Aquarium.
“Over 150 years old, this aquarium has been a visitor attraction along with the Argo tourist boat, taking passengers on a lovely cruise around Harrington Sound.
“Three offices, a gift shop and a ticket booth make up the lower section of the aquarium.”
Anyone interested in purchasing the aquarium and restaurant should contact Kathy Lines on 505-7053.
