SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22: Premier Paula Cox said The Mustard Seed Exhibition at St Paul’s AME Church has many “powerful pieces” and is encouraging the community to visit the show.

The Mustard Seed Exhibition includes works by Manuel Palacio, Kenneth Burch, Antoine Hunt, Sharon Wilson, Christopher Grimes and others.

Premier Cox said, “St. Paul’s Church, Rev Dr Lanel D. Guyton and the committee are to be commended for showcasing our Bermudian art and artists. I was privileged to attend the formal opening recently and the curator was well-known artist Mr. Manuel Palacio.

“The works on display were very powerful pieces, and I was pleased to lend my support as I see this as a wonderful way to further spur investment in our local art community, and in doing so we are also helping the church.”

Earlier this week, the Dame Jennifer Smith, the Minister of Education, welcomed students to the show and said: “This is a wonderful occasion for you to learn about our local art culture - a learning opportunity that will allow you to appreciate the exciting world of the arts and in doing so ignite your passion and inspire you to be creative souls.

The exhibition runs through September 28 and is open daily between 11am and 6pm. The works on display are for sale and part proceeds go toward assisting the St. Paul’s AME Church.
