Winners of the 2006 Bermuda National Gallery’s Student Art Competition received their awards last night.

This year the question for artists to ‘answer’ was — “What is your heritage and how has it shaped you?”

The theme was inspired by the gallery’s current exhibition Bill Ming: From Ship to Shore.

There were 500 entries for the six categories. Winners included: Abigail Exon, 7, Saltus Cavendish (Primary Year 3); Paget Hengesbaugh, 8, B.H.S (Primary Year 4); Grace Graham-Taylor, 9, B.H.S (Primary Year 5); Owen Siese, 10, Somerset Primary (Primary Year 6); Idrees Sharrieff, 11, Somersfield Academy (Middle School); Brooke Dolan, 17, Saltus Grammar School (Senior School).

The exhibition is on display from January 6 to January 16.[[In-content Ad]]
