Kalena Astwood, 22, and Julia Lines, 14, were announced as the winners out of 13 candidates in the Mayor’s Parlour at City Hall.
Both models spoke of their excitement to have been chosen.
The room was filled with family and friends showing support as the announcement was made by Geoff Cox, Top Model operations director.
Premier Paula Cox was also in attendance and invited the winners to a reception at Camden this evening.
The competition will take place in March 2012 in London where the girls will travel to be part of the international showcase.
According to a press statement: “The top model campaigns are not beauty pageants but pride themselves on their pure model ethos with all of the top prizes an opportunities for the finalists and award winners being focused on the fashion and model industries.
“Over a quarter of the 2011 finalists walked at London Fashion Week in February 2011 and both the 2010 UK winner, Lizzie Elliott, and the 2011 worldwide winner, Deandra Brangman, continue to build on their prospering career.”
The girls were chosen after the Corporation of Hamilton held the largest fashion show Bermuda has ever seen on July 16. A shortlist of interviews took place on Thursday.
Top Model Worldwide filmed the entire event and will show a 30-minute feature on Top Model TV.
