TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27: The Bermuda Department of Tourism hosted North American travel agents on island last week to showcase boutique-style hotels.
The event was organized by the BDOT’s New York office where the agents participated in a familiarization trip, which featured site visits to local hotels classified as boutique properties.
Tourism director William Griffith said: “By industry standards, boutique hotels are smaller, intimate and luxury accommodations.
“They are becoming popular in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
“Our agents are seeing an increase in requests for this type of accommodation and we hosted the travel agents specifically to share properties in Bermuda that suit the boutique hotel traveler’s needs.”
Site visits were held at Pink Beach Club and Cottage Colony, Clear View Suites and Villas, Cambridge Beaches, The Reefs, Pompano Beach Club, Royal Palms Hotel, Rosedon, Newstead Belmont Hills Golf Resort and Tucker’s Point Hotel.
