Yours for $1.75m - Devil's Hole Aquarium
FRIDAY, JUNE 17: The Devil’s Hole Aquarium has been put up for sale.
The Smiths property, which also includes the Angels Wings Café, has been put on the market for $1.75 million.
The aquarium, which houses fish and turtles, has been a tourist attraction for more than 150 years.
It is believed to have opened in 1834 and was based around a collapsed cave.
The restaurant was recently renovated with new kitchen equipment.
It seats 50 people inside and offers additional seating for 25 on the verandah overlooking Harrington Sound.
The plot is 2,000 square feet and comes with an office, retail space and the cruise boat Argo.
The company van has also been included in the sale along with a large strip of waterfront.
Moura and Associates are acting as the agent for the sale.
An advertisement appeared on the company’s website this week stating: “Unique business opportunity at the Devil's Hole Aquarium.
“Over 150 years old, this aquarium has been a visitor attraction along with the "Argo" tourist boat, taking passengers on a lovely cruise around Harrington Sound.
“The Angels Wings Cafe has a modern kitchen and seats over 50, with indoor and outdoor dining areas.
“Three offices, a gift shop and a ticket booth make up the lower section of the aquarium.
“This sale comes includes the "Argo" boat and company van.”
