Dage Minors has been named Male Athlete of the Year by his High School St. Johnsbury Academy’s local newspaper, the Caledonian-Record in Vermont.
At a recent State meet, Bermudian Minors, 17, won four events — the 1,500m, 800m, 400m and 4x400m.
It was an encore to his indoor season where Minors also recorded a sensational individual triple by winning the 1,600m, 1,000m and 600m.
Over two track seasons in his senior year, Minors has accumulated eight titles, including six individual championships. He told the Record: “Everything this whole year just came together. It’s a dream come true.”
In the fall, after he has competed at the forthcoming Island Games, Minors heads to Division II Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, New Hampshire after earning a scholarship.
