Bermuda claimed early Island Games medal joy in track and field this morning with a gold and a bronze in the high jump at the National Sports Centre.
Jahnai Perinchief, 15, won gold with a personal best jump of 2.01m, while Chas Smith claimed bronze, recording 1.98m.
The result means Bermuda has now equalled its gold medal tally from the 2011 Games in Isle Wight, with the hosts' overall medal count currently standing at nine.
The athletics continues tonight from 6pm with finals in the following events: Men’s 400m hurdles, men’s shot put, women’s 100m, men’s 100m, women’s long jump, women’s 10,000, women’s javelin, men’s 10,000.
Bermuda sprinters Tre Houston, Kidane Callender and Natasha Trott have all qualified for tonight's 100m finals.
