Swimming squad finalised after disrupted meet

The Bermuda Amatuer Swimming Association’s efforts to add to their Carifta Championship squad were disrupted by the weather at the weekend.

The scheduled Best of the Best meet at Warwick Academy Pool, which was the last chance for swimmers to meet the Championship qualifying standard, was cancelled.

However, BASA coaches still put on some time trial events to give the swimming hopefuls a chance of making it but, unfortunately, there were no more qualifiers.

Therefore, the squad of 18 stands as it was for the Championship in Jamaica on March 30.

The squad is as follows: Dejan Wellman; Vaughn Rowse; Philip Hagen; Sophie Froud; Shannon Botelho; Jesse Washington; Alex McCallum; Vanessa Esposito; Shannon Hassell; Alex Pilgrim; Josh Irvine; Ethan Daley; Evan Farrow; Alyssa Paynter; Ashley Irby; Emma Harvey; Megan Lau; Maddie Moore.
