West takes control of Bermuda Open

Keir Smith is deep in thought at Port Royal as he weighs up a putt during the second round of the Bermuda Open yesterday.

Smith shot a five-over 76 to leave himself tied ninth on a day that saw Eric West move to the top of the professionals’ leaderboard with a level-par round to put him three over for the tournament.

Eddie Kirby and Claude Grenier are tied second on five over overall, with first-round leader Ian Doig fourth on six over.

Due to the likelihood of bad weather tomorrow the Bermuda Golf Association has made the decision to play both third and fourth rounds today.

The first tee times for the final round will be 2pm and 2:40pm.
