The "Job Interviewing and Soft Skills Workshop" will be held on Wednesday, November 13, from 9am to noon at the Somers Isles Lodge, in Somerset.
The Department of Workforce Development will join with Independent MP Terry Lister in hosting this employment workshop aimed at helping to get Bermudians back to work.
The goal of the event is to provide guidance on interviewing and résumé preparation, communicating effectively and provide inspirational testimonials on overcoming personal obstacles.
The Minister of Home Affairs Michael Fahy said in a press release: "We are very pleased to partner with MP Terry Lister in what we believe is a tremendously worthwhile initiative.
"The Premier has challenged all Ministers and Parliamentarians on both sides of the aisle to make a genuine effort to engage in collaborative ways for the good of Bermuda, and the Ministry of Home Affairs has taken up the Premier's call to action.
"Mr. Lister is the area MP and as such, he has a vested interest in the well being and success of his constituents and we cannot help but support his commitment. The Department of Workforce Development is happy to do our part by providing the right tools and resources to help prepare Bermudians for this changing workforce environment. And it is my hope that we can do more collaborative ventures such as this in other areas of the community."
Those attending Wednesday's workshop should bring copies of résumés for review.
