Bradford City fight sickness

Bradford City shut down their training ground again yesterday in a bid to rid the club of the sickness bug that has hit their squad, including leading marksman Nahki Wells.

The Bermuda striker dragged himself out of bed to play a part in the 1-1 draw at home to Notts County on Tuesday night but was clearly not 100 per cent. City take on Oldham on Sunday as speculation continues to link Wells, 23, with a move away from Valley Parade in the January transfer window.

The player has so far declined to comment.

But former Bermuda striker Kyle Lightbourne told the Sun Wells could cope with a move to a higher league, although he  warned him he’ll have to adapt.

“He has plenty to learn without a doubt. He’s been playing a certain way at Bradford, little and large [with striker James Hanson] and that works for him. A lot of clubs play with one up front so he will have to adapt.

“But he has all the attributes, left foot, right foot, good in the air, good pace – he’s got the lot. Shaun [Goater] and myself were scoring goals for three seasons in a row before we got a move – you have to take the opportunity when you can.”
