Back in the day: Recognize these two young gentlemen?
Last Friday’s photo — barmen
Our hospitality picture from last week proved to be something of a mystery.
The only individual that could be identified was the late Stanley ‘Gubby’ Wilkinson on the far left of the photo. His sister Lola Dean and his great niece Lorna-Jean Joyiens confirmed it was Mr. Wilkinson, but could not identify the rather swish-looking occasion.
Ms. Dean wondered if the man standing beside Stanley could be Kenneth Simons, but was unsure.
Of her brother ‘Gubby’, Ms. Dean praised his wonderful skills as a chef, and spoke of how he loved to fish.
If you can help us to discover the people or stories in this week’s ‘Back in the Day’, please drop me a line at 278-1880 or email me: gskelton@
bermudasun.bm.
Whatever information you provide will help us to piece together a little bit more of Bermuda’s photographic history.
Please call or e-mail me with what you know about our archive photos, and all the information I receive will be compiled for the following week’s paper.

That was then: Recognize these two young gentlemen? Both would go on to achieve high office.
Who are they and what do you remember about them from this era?
Tell us what you know about this photo.
And do you have any extraordinary, old photos to share? E-mail Photo Editor Gary Skelton: gskelton@bermudasun.bm.
