Bermuda were soundly beaten by eight wickets in their opening Twenty20 match against USA in Florida.
Skipper Janeiro Tucker’s team are playing three games in the States as part of their preparations for the World Twenty20 qualifiers in Dubai from November 15.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Bermuda opener Dion Stovell was the only batsman to reach double figures with a 48 off 46 balls.
The run-rate of 4.6 an over was also under-par as the tourists closed on 93 for eight from their allotted overs.
In reply, USA cantered to their target with the loss of just two wickets as Fahad Babar top scored with 58.
Malachi Jones was economical with his three overs going for just eight runs but Derrick Brangman, (0-29 off four overs) Jacobi Robinson (0 for 24 off 2.2 overs) and Kamal Bashir (0 for 8 off one over) were all expensive. Stovell was the only bowler who broke through with his two wickets going for 21 off four overs.
Bermuda and USA also play today and tomorrow.
