Bermuda ended its 2014 Fed Cup Americas Zone Group 2 campaign on a positive note with a sweet 3-0 win over Panama in Humacao, Puerto Rico.
It meant the team finished ninth overall.
Cayla Cross was first to take to the courts for the #2 Singles match and she was able to dispatch Daniela Diez 6-0, 6-0 in just 42 minutes.
Next on court for the #1 Singles match was Tyler Smith, who saw off Panama’s Karla Contreras 6-0, 6-2.
After some discussion as to whether the doubles match was necessary, the Bermuda pair of Tara and Jacklyn Lambert went on to win 6-2, 5-7, 7-5 against Daniela Diez and Gabriela Gonzalez to complete the clean sweep.
Bolivia and Chile won over the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica respectively to secure the two promotion spots to Group 1 for 2015.
