Bermuda striker Jonte Smith has joined Finland second division side Kemi Kings from League One Crawley Town on loan until the end of June, with a view to a permanent move.
The 19-year-old Bermudian joined Town in August 2011 but enjoyed his best spell on loan at Ryman League club Met Police.
He managed just four substitute appearances in the Crawley first team over a two-year period and manager John Gregory made it clear he wasn’t going to be offered a new deal at the end of the campaign.
Gregory said: “Jonte’s contract is up at the end of the season so this is a great opportunity for him to put himself in the shop window and get some games under his belt.
“You have to admire him for being prepared to go to a different country to experience different football and we all wish him well.”
Kemi Kings are managed by former West Ham and Leyton Orient manager Tommy Taylor.
