A St George’s man who allegedly assaulted a female police officer and escaped custody on Tuesday was today remanded into custody.
Earlington Robinson, 56 appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning after police captured him late Tuesday night.
He was charged with uttering threatening words to a pest control officer -Venita Smith, behaving in a threatening manner towards PC Therub, violently resisting arrest, assaulting PS Cowper and causing her bodily harm and escaping police custody.
Mr Robinson denied all the charges.
The offences allegedly happened on October 8 outside of his home.
Prosecutor Susan Mulligan told the court the incident happened after pest control came to his house about a report of mosquitoes.
PS Cowper suffered a laceration to the back of her head as a result. The court heard she suffered a concussion and was unconscious as a result.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded Mr Robinson into custody until January 29 when he will stand trial.
